British Flame Day 2025 has now drawn to a close after two inspiring days at the RNLI College.
The event brought together representatives from UK Government, owner operators, engineering firms, and suppliers from across the combustion and energy sectors, all united by a shared commitment to advancing cleaner, more efficient technologies. The two day conference was packed with innovation, knowledge sharing, and meaningful conversations. Among the many standout moments was Greens Combustion’s presentation on our groundbreaking Flare-In-A-box™ emissions testing, delivered by Technical Manager Simon Kretzschmar. The concept attracted significant attention, showcasing a robust method for accurately predicting flare emissions at low gas flows and varying cross wind speeds. The system’s ability to measure methane slip down to parts per million, while also accounting for other pollutants such as NOx, represents a major step forward in emissions testing accuracy. Beyond the presentations, the true value of British Flame Day was felt in the energy of the discussions, from technical sessions to informal exchanges during breaks, and throughout the evening networking dinner proudly sponsored by Greens Combustion. It was a pleasure to connect with like minded professionals, all motivated by the same goal of reducing emissions and driving sustainable progress across the combustion sector.
A special mention must go to Tom Gilmartin, whose hand crafted light up name badges added a memorable and creative touch to the event, sparking conversations (and quite a few smiles) throughout both days. The dust has settled on another successful British Flame Day, but the conversations and collaborations it inspired will continue long after. We’re already looking forward to seeing how the ideas shared this year will shape the next wave of combustion innovation.
