Registration is now open for the British Flame Research Committee’s Flame Day 2026, taking place from 30 September to 1 October at the RNLI College in Poole.

Greens Combustion is proud to be the Primary Sponsor of this year’s event, which will focus on Safe Clean Combustion in Uncertain Times. The two day programme will bring together industry professionals to share knowledge, discuss current challenges and explore the latest developments in combustion technology.

As part of the programme, Richard Withnall, Managing Director of Greens Combustion, will present an update on the BFRC’s Flares Working Group, which he leads.

The working group has been highly active since Flame Day 2025, with its main priority being the development of a Guidance Document on Understanding Flare Emissions. Incorporating input from operators, technology providers, regulators and researchers across the flaring sector, the document aims to improve industry understanding of real world flare performance and emissions.

Richard will share the progress made on the Guidance Document alongside an overview of the group’s wider activities over the past year.
